it would be Alvarado claiming the B-Main win, and the final A-main transfer spot.
Under quickly darkening skies, the A-Main would roll off for its 10 lap contest, Evan Karp leading the way with star performer from 2020 Ayrton DeMoss alongside. The pair of rising stars would quickly come under fire, and it was a trio of veterans making things happen from further back. Alyssa Yauney would be the first one to strike, stealing away the top spot from Karp from her P4 starting spot, holding onto the lead for the next couple of laps. Further down the charts the driver on the move however was Paulo Franca, methodically working his way through the field after starting mid-pack, taking over the top spot from Yauney with only about 3 to go. Yauney would stay in tow, but just wouldn’t be able to take the fight to Franca, settling for 2nd in the end, while another driver worked his way up the charts. Claiming the final podium spot would be the overall pole sitter Sam Hunt, scoring the third place spot along with the fastest lap of the race while climbing up from the 8th place spot at the start.
For his part, Evan Karp held on for 5th at the end, and coupled with the pair of heat races is the point leader heading into round #2, while Diego Morales crossed the line 7th as the highest ranking Masters driver. The A-Main was also home to the top ranking Sportsman driver in Donnie Clarke with his 11th place finish, while Grand Masters top finisher would be John Rice, the trio all leading their respective categories after round #1.
