      ROUND 5 - MAY 22
ound #5 of the 10 round 2021 Super Series season took to the tricky Tecnico circuit in the month of May. The halfway point in the year, and the middle of a
three-race run of counter- clockwise tracks. The first and last part of the circuit mirrored that of Classico CCW from the round before, but the middle part of the course that is unique to Tecnico offered up plenty of excitement.
Qualifying would see a driver we are seeing more and more of towards the front these days, clock the top time, as Seth Willits scored his second career pole position by just .073 over Paulo Franca. For Franca it was three P2 Qualifying efforts in a row, with Albert Yeh having a breakout qualifying performance to be just .002 off Franca for third, snagging the final bonus point and pole for Heat 1C. Of the top three qualifiers, however, only Paulo Franca would find a way to victory in the Heat races, joined by reigning champ Diego Morales, Ayrton Demoss and Chase Nickells in the Heat win category. The driver besting them all and snagging pole for the A-Main would be -once again- Sam Hunt, who swept the heats for the second event in a row.
Before the A-Main could roll off; however, the first of two preliminary Mains would take to the course, with Michael Collins leading the field away for the start of the C-Main. Lap one had plenty of action, but once the dust settled it was P2 starter Landon Parcel once again in the runner-up spot and would slowly reel in Collins over the next few laps. The pair had almost three seconds on third, Ramil Sadykov when Parcel caught Colins on lap five, but then the infighting started, bringing Ramil right to their bumpers by lap seven. On lap eight Collins could no longer hold off the challenge, with Parcel sneaking by and bringing Ramil with him, and two laps later it was Ramil’s turn at the front. His move for the lead would turn into a small advantage, and enough to stay out of the battle behind him, holding on to bring home the C- Main win and the transfer into the B.
The C-Main was an exciting and eventful one to watch, but the B-Main would be a bit more processional, as Andres Prieto found himself in the B-Main -a rare occurrence to be sure- and would waste little time getting to the lead. From there he put on a masters class around Tecnico, showing exactly why he was the former track record there by cruising to the B-Main win. Behind him, however, would be a pair of new faces at the sharp end, as Adrian Comstock and Mike Carlson clocked consistent and quick laps in their own right. Finishing in second and third respectively, they perhaps showed potential of what we could see out of these vastly improving drivers in the future.
Sam Hunt would lead the field into the esses for the start of the A-Main, and for the second round in a row, the field would not get to racing on the first try. This time, however, there was
